Victor Gong: Guilty of Unprofessional Conduct

Victor Gong is a doctor in Bishopville, Maryland who was disciplined by the Maryland State Board of Physicians in 2011 for a number of violations.

The Board found that Gong:

  • was guilty of unprofessional conduct in the practice of medicine
  • prescribed drugs for illegal or illegitimate medical purposes; and
  • failed to meet keep adequate medical records.

Gong ultimately surrendered his license to practice medicine in the state of New York. However, despite the grave findings, Gong managed to keep his license to practice medicine in Maryland. He received a reprimand, was placed on probation, and was required to take courses in medical record keeping and ethics.
